The Ghoul's Nest
Level Two - Radulesc Family Crypt
Where the fissure ends, more mining tunnels have been carved in the rock. After the mine was abandoned, these branching clusters of passages were eventually turned into a series of crypts.
Note: on this level of the mine, there is an abundance of sulphur dust in the air. The air is dry, and torches or lanterns (if used) will burn extra brightly, emitting a terrible smell, and sometimes flaring up and flashing. If an explosion is caused such as by a spell, a smashed lantern, or a flask of burning oil, there is a chance of amplified effect or secondary effect.
-
If an explosion occurs on this level of the mine, roll 1d6:
- 1: nothing extra happens
- 2-4: a random parameter of the effect (radius, damage) is increased by 25%
- 5: a random secondary effect, identical to the first, is trigged in a random direction (1-6), at a range of 1-6 hexes from the first. Do not roll to see if this secondary effect also has an extra effect.
- 6: trigger a blast equivalent to the fireball spell at the site of the initial explosion. Also trigger a secondary effect as if you also rolled 5, but in this case, treat that secondary effect as an initial explosion which can itself cause a secondary effect.
