Gorgu Radulesc Burial Chamber

At 6x4 meters, the burial chamber of Gorgu Radulesc is the largest of the burial chambers of the Radulesc children, suggesting that he was the heir apparent to the family entitlements. Gorgu’s sarcophagus is open, sulphur dust is spilled across the floor, and the stone slab that was sealing his tomb has been smashed open from the inside. Two empty canopic jars rest in the corner, perhaps intended to preserve his organs following an embalming ceremony that never happened. An iron gate in the east wall leads to his treasure room.
